How Do Rays Sting?

Rays have a spine that stings fish, and some have electricity in their bodies. The stinging spine looks like a sword with teeth. But if the sword was a feather, then the soft parts would be the teeth.

  1. It's scary to think of a spine with teeth, even soft feather teeth! I was snorkeling in Mexico in 1987 and when I saw some sting rays underneath me I got out of the water really fast.

But I guess even sting rays deserve to eat, so I'm okay with them stinging fish.

Grandpa ate some sting ray in a fancy restaurant in France and he didn't like it.
